WLB Contracts Boosts Agricultural Vehicle Cleaning with Washbay Lift

Aberdeenshire-based WLB Contracts has strengthened its agricultural service offering with the installation of a washbay vehicle lift from heavy-duty lifting specialist Stertil-Koni.

The company installed an internal Washbay SKYLIFT to deliver safer, more controlled cleaning of dirty and heavily soiled agricultural vehicles and machinery, enhancing overall washbay efficiency and under-vehicle access. 

Designed with a fully hydraulic, ‘clear-floor design’, the Stertil-Koni SKYLIFT rises vertically without horizontal movement. This efficient, space-saving design maximises available floor space and supports smoother workflow when compared with traditional platform lift systems.

WLB Contracts opted for the SKY200 model, delivering an impressive 20-tonne lifting capacity. This makes it ideally suited to the heavy agricultural machinery such as loaders and tractors used by the company’s customers. 

Engineered specifically for demanding washbay environments, the SKYLIFT features fully hot-dip galvanised platforms, marine-grade coated lifting legs, and a stainless steel control box providing exceptional corrosion resistance.

With a lifting height of 1.75 metres achieved in approximately 90 seconds, the SKYLIFT’s base-frame-free design provides unobstructed access around the vehicle. This is particularly useful in chassis wash and steam-cleaning applications, where full access is essential.

Safety and accuracy are supported by an independent mechanical locking system that engages from just 90mm above floor level. Individual measuring systems within each lifting column maintain precise synchronisation throughout the lifting process. 

For streamlined daily operation, the SKYLIFT is equipped with Stertil-Koni’s patented eBright Smart Control System. The intuitive touchscreen interface gives operators clear, straightforward control, enhancing efficiency across the washbay operation.
