Hillier Nurseries, a family-owned network of 22 garden centres across the South of England, has enhanced its workshop capabilities with the purchase of a Stertil-Koni 4-Post Lift. The investment enables the business to safely lift and work beneath a wide range of agricultural and horticultural vehicles used across its operations.
The hydraulically operated ST4120 4-Post Lift provides a lifting capacity of 12 tonnes and was specified with 7-metre-long platforms, making it ideal for servicing everything from large tractors to specialist vineyard machinery.
Designed with versatility in mind, the lift incorporates fully adjustable platforms to accommodate different axle widths, alongside a low drive-on height and low-profile wedge-style approach ramps. This combination allows easy access for a broad range of vehicles, including those with limited ground clearance.
To further increase maintenance flexibility, the lift supplied to Hillier Nurseries was equipped with a jacking beam, enabling wheel-free servicing and repair work.
Safety is central to the lift's design. An advanced electronic synchronisation system continuously monitors the position of each hydraulic cylinder, ensuring smooth, level lifting and lowering throughout operation. This is complemented by an independent gravity-operated locking mechanism, which prevents unintended lowering of the platforms.
An adjacent control unit houses the hydraulic pump and control box, allowing technicians to operate the lift using simple push-button controls. The ST4120 achieves its maximum lifting height of 1,890 mm in just 90 seconds, helping to minimise vehicle downtime and improve workshop productivity.
To provide additional assurance of quality and safety, the ST4120 is independently tested against a range of demanding international standards, including the American ANSI/ALI ALCTV requirements, alongside CE certification.
