TMS UK Ltd has strengthened its ground support services at Heathrow Airport by investing in a set of Stertil-Koni wireless mobile column lifts. This latest addition provides a flexible and efficient lifting solution, enabling TMS to maximise its workspace while maintaining a reliable fleet of ground support vehicles.
Part of the globally recognised TCR Group, TMS has long relied on Stertil-Koni’s lifting technology to support its operations at airports across the UK. The latest investment further enhances its ability to service heavy-duty ground support equipment (GSE) vehicles with ease and efficiency.
Each Stertil-Koni ST1085FWA mobile column lift offers an impressive 8.5-tonne lifting capacity, meaning a set of four can handle vehicles up to 34 tonnes. This makes them ideal for maintaining essential GSE vehicles, including terminal tractors and heavy recovery trucks, ensuring TMS remains equipped to meet increasing customer demands.
The wireless design of these lifts eliminates the need for cables, reducing trip hazards and cutting setup time - creating a safer and more streamlined working environment for technicians. With Stertil-Koni’s intuitive ebright Smart Control System, operators can adjust lifts individually or in sync via a user-friendly touchscreen, offering unmatched flexibility for servicing different vehicle types.
Powered by deep-cycle batteries that consume energy only when lifting, the system is designed for efficiency - minimising downtime while reducing power usage. Adjustable-width forks further enhance versatility, accommodating a variety of tyre sizes across TMS’s diverse vehicle fleet.
