Manchester Airport has upgraded its ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance with the installation of two new Stertil-Koni SK2055EFA 2-Post FREEDOMLIFTs, helping technicians work faster, safer, and with greater flexibility.
Replacing older 2-post models, the new lifts were selected for their proven reliability, ease of use, and versatility, key factors in supporting the airport’s busy operational demands.
Each lift offers a lifting capacity of 5,500kg, ideal for handling a wide variety of vehicles including tow tractors and other specialist GSE vehicles. Thanks to the FREEDOMLIFT’s double-telescopic arms and hinged elbow joints, technicians can securely position vehicles of varying sizes, ensuring safe and efficient lifting every time.
The lifts can reach their full height of 2045mm in just 39 seconds, helping reduce downtime and speed up routine servicing. With no floor base or overhead crossbars, the design ensures unrestricted access for mechanics working underneath, streamlining tasks such as inspections, maintenance, and part replacements.
The compact, open-frame design also makes installation simple, integrating neatly into the airport’s existing workshop layout with minimal disruption.
Built-in safety features provide peace of mind for the team, including an independent locking system that engages just above floor level, overload protection, synchronised lifting technology, and shielding for all key components.
Supplied by Stertil-Koni’s trusted distributor, CCS Garage Equipment in Leigh, the new FREEDOMLIFTs are already helping the Manchester Airport team maintain critical GSE vehicles with greater speed, confidence, and operational uptime.
