Mobile column lifts for TIP Group

TIP Group, a prominent provider of maintenance and breakdown services for the transportation and logistics sectors, has bolstered its workshop operations with a new set of Stertil-Koni wireless mobile column lifts. This addition at their Hull facility enables technicians to swiftly adapt the workshop setup, enhancing efficiency and enabling them to quickly reconfigure the space to suit various tasks.

Already a user of 2 x ST4175 17.5-tonne 4-Post lifts from Stertil-Koni, TIP Group has now invested in a set of ST1075FWA mobile column lifts. With each of the four columns capable of lifting 7.5 tonnes, the system offers a combined capacity of 30 tonnes, making it perfect for the rigorous demands of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.

The wireless design of these mobile truck column lifts offers a significant reduction in setup time, eliminating the need for cumbersome cables. This not only streamlines workflow but also enhances safety by minimising tripping hazards, creating a more secure working environment.

To further support their workshop, TIP Group also acquired a set of tall axle stands and a set of medium-height axle stands. This allows the option to use the stands for free wheel support when the mobile columns are removed, or as additional support while the columns remain in place.

A standout feature of the mobile columns is the ebright Smart Control System from Stertil-Koni, allowing engineers to operate the lifts either individually or in unison. The system is controlled through easy-to-use, full-colour touch screen consoles, offering maximum flexibility and ease of use. The ability to manage the lifts from any column enhances their adaptability, making them a valuable addition to the workshop.

The Stertil-Koni ST1075FWA lifts are powered by durable, deep-cycle batteries that require infrequent recharging. This design ensures minimal downtime, as power is only consumed during the actual lifting process, keeping the lifts ready for operation and boosting overall productivity.

With adjustable-width forks, the lifts can accommodate a variety of vehicle tyre sizes, making them versatile enough to meet the diverse needs of TIP’s fleet. The investment in these advanced lifting solutions reflects TIP’s commitment to delivering top-tier service and robust support to its customers.

This upgrade positions TIP to meet increasing customer demands while solidifying its standing as a leader in commercial vehicle maintenance.

The equipment was supplied through CCS, a trusted Stertil-Koni distributor based in Leigh, Lancashire.
