Stertil Koni Distributor Supplies 4-Post Lift For New Workshop

As an accredited distributor for the extensive range of Stertil Koni heavy-duty vehicle lifting equipment, Autocraft Equipment has supplied a 25 tonne capacity 4-post lift to A R Haddy & Son.

THE COMPANY

With a legacy dating back to the First World War, A R Haddy & Son is a family-run haulage company based in South East Cornwall specialising in freight transport by road. The company operates a fleet of six-wheeler, eight-wheeler and articulated lorries to transport an extensive range of loads including aggregates, agricultural lime, sea sand, road planings and tarmac plus all types of plant machinery and equipment to any accessible sites throughout the South West.

A R Haddy & Son has recently commenced the process of updating and enlarging its vehicle workshop which is based at the company’s site in Saltash, Cornwall. As a crucial element of this project, and following positive recommendations, Autocraft Equipment was commissioned to supply and install the Stertil Koni vehicle lift, type ST4250.

THE EQUIPMENT

The ST4250 was specifically designed to ensure safe and reliable operation within the heavy-duty vehicle sector and incorporates a number of unique features including a very low drive-on height and the complete absence of crossbeams. Consequently, the lift offers almost unlimited flexibility by ensuring unrestricted access for personnel and equipment such as axle stands and transmission jacks.

The adjustable spacing between the lift’s two platforms ensures the ideal width to suit the broadest range of vehicles. This, in turn, ensures maximum space utilisation within the busiest of workshops.

Electronic control of the lift’s hydraulic system ensures a smooth lifting and lowering cycle which is vital when vehicles to be raised have an extremely uneven load distribution. Other innovative features include a programmable lifting height, impact-resistant LED lighting that switches on and off automatically just above floor level plus an audible warning signal to help prevent technicians’ feet becoming trapped.

The Stertil Koni 4-Post ST4250 is extremely easy to operate using a control panel featuring hold-to-run low-voltage push buttons. Also, the lift’s control system utilises a numerical onboard self-diagnostic programme that provides technicians with constant information on the system’s status.

Offering a maximum lifting height of 1900mm in an impressive 77 seconds, the lift is one of the world’s fastest in its class. During lifting and lowering operations, total safety is assured by an integral patented mechanical locking system that operates complete independently of the lifting system. Relying on gravity alone, this mechanical locking system is permanently enabled to guarantee the highest possible safety standards.

Each cylinder incorporated within the ST4250 is fitted with an oil flow control valve that is enabled throughout the lifting process. Furthermore, an integrated over-pressure valve is fitted as standard to prevent all lifting columns from becoming overloaded.
