Stertil Employees Clock Up Nearly 300 Years

10/01/17 | 2017

A group of employees has achieved a total of almost 300 years working for Stertil UK Limited. Managing director, Martin Paynter, presented Long Service Awards to 14 staff members at the company’s headquarters in Northampton, recognising their hard work, loyalty and commitment.

From its UK headquarters in Northampton, Stertil UK supplies and installs an acclaimed range of loading bay products, industrial door solutions and heavy duty commercial vehicle lifting equipment. To support installations and customers throughout the UK, Stertil provides comprehensive after-sales service utilising a nationwide network of experienced service engineers.

In presenting the awards, Martin highlighted Stertil’s philosophy of ensuring that every employee has the opportunity to fulfil his or her potential within the company which, in several cases, saw employees transferring between different departments. Typical of these is Paul Foster who began working for Stertil in 1990 as a Service Co-ordinator before progressing to the position of Service Manager and, following a move to the company’s sales team, is now a highly successful Area Sales Manager. By contrast, the company’s longest serving employee, Tony Jackson, joined Stertil as a warehouseman over 35 years ago and has continued in that role utilising his knowledge and experience over the years as the company has grown and his responsibilities have broadened.

“In today’s challenging business conditions, I believe that these Long Service Awards are a clear indication of how employers and employees can demonstrate loyalty to one another,” says Martin Paynter. “As a company, we constantly strive to ensure excellent working conditions and continual training for our staff. They, in turn, not only work conscientiously but also frequently go the extra mile to ensure that our customers receive top quality service and support at all times.”
